Membership Fees
An Investment in Your Professional Future
Professional membership is one of the most valuable investments a sociologist or anthropologist can make. The fees that sustain USAA fund the workshops, publications, advocacy work, accreditation mechanisms, and community-building activities that serve every member – and the profession as a whole.
Ordinary
Any person who has completed sociology or anthropology as a major or minor subject at undergraduate level (or at postgraduate level), from a recognized university or tertiary institution. Your Community, your association.
Student
Any person currently registered as an undergraduate student at a recognized higher institution of learning in Uganda, studying sociology as a major or minor discipline. Student membership is available for a maximum of five years.
Associate
Individuals who do not hold a sociology or anthropology qualification but who have a genuine professional or intellectual interest in the discipline - including professionals from allied fields and postgraduate students in related disciplines.
Institutional
Universities, research institutions, and organisations that have made significant contributions to the professional development of sociology and anthropology as a discipline in Uganda. Institutional membership allows organisations to engage formally with USAA and its activities.
Honorary
Distinguished sociologists and anthropologists who have made exceptional contributions to the discipline in Uganda and Africa. Honorary membership is awarded by nomination - members of the association recommend candidates to the Executive Committee, which makes the final determination.
